Hello, I’m Matt.

I started running ElectionMapsUK in 2018, when I was 16-years-old. What began as a niche and somewhat embarassing personal project to track polling data and by-election results has evolved into one of the UK’s most-cited independent psephological platforms.

I run the operation solo to this day. The platform now serves a community of over 200,000 followers on X, including leading journalists and over half of sitting MPs.

My body of work now includes multiple poll trackers, election models, and a swathe of topical data visualisations. The ElectionMapsUK Nowcast model was one of two models to predict the correct winner in over 90% of seats in GE2024. I have also been commissioned by Omnisis to deliver interactive maps for the 2024 General Election, and my analysis has previously been featured by BBC Newsnight, ITV Peston, and several national newspapers.
